Within the first 3 months of high school, freshman students will engage in an experience of a lifetime! Students enter Heifer International’s Global Village where they will experience some of the challenges of global hunger and poverty. Students will come out energized and determined to be part of a solution. Heifer Ranch is also a working example of sustainable agriculture which helps “pay-it-forward” in many ways.
Students will also visit the Clinton Library where they get a small sampling of life in the White House including replicas of the Oval Office and Cabinet Room. The Clinton Library has the largest archival and museum holdings within the Presidential Library system. There are 76.8 million pages of paper documents, 1.85 million photographs and over 84,600 museum artifacts there.
Another stop on this expedition is Central High School. AGS students will take a guided tour where the Arkansas State Government resisted integration. President Eisenhower had to deploy federal troops to ensure the admittance of African-American students who were trying to attend school there.
