What’s Going On At AGS?
AGS Needs…
Tissues! – It seems as if a wave of allergy season & colds have hit. If you happen to think of us, please grab a box, or two or three of tissue and have your kiddo drop them off in the AGS Office. We are running very low.
Snacks! – So many starving teens! Our snack cabinet has run bare of bottled water and snacks for our students. Again, if you think of us while out and about, please grab snacks and bottled water for our hungry & thirsty AGS students.
Communications
Thanks to Digital Street, Inc., AGS Amigos will be communicating with you through their system. Please be certain to add email@dsisend.com to your contacts in order to ensure that you receive all communications from AGS Amigos. All group emails from AGS AmiGoS will be sent out from email@dsisend.com. We want to make sure that your computer does not spam important information from them. Also, please be sure and keep your email addresses updated with the AGS office so that we are able to get information to you!
ABSENCES & DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS
If a student is absent from school, the student needs to turn in an excuse note within 2 days of returning to school to the main Austin High office to Mrs. Oliver. The note needs to have the date/dates of the absence and the reason behind the absence. It should also have the parents signature and phone number on it. Faxed notes are fine. The fax number is 414-7373. The attendance office takes emails if parents have the capability to put signatures on them. Family trips/vacations/weddings are not excused.
If a student has a doctor appointment during the day the parent should send the student with a note stating what time they are picking him/her up. The student needs to bring the note into the Attendance Office first thing in the morning and get a “Check out” pass to leave at the appropriate time. They can then meet their parent outside! This is the BEST way to handle doctor visits! Have the student bring the doctor note into the Attendance Office when they return to school.
If you have any questions, please call Brenda Oliver in the attendance office at 414-7214.
